About Me:

As I write this, I am 49 years old. I can’t say that I have had a great life but it’s been ok. It was about 5 years ago however that changed my life forever. My mother passed away at 64 years old. She was incredible, I miss her everyday. She taught me the value of treating other people as you would like to be treated, everyone came before my mom. She died after a long battle with cancer and heart related issues. This is what woke me up. I was on four medications for cholesterol, anxiety, inflammation and blood pressure.

I started walking with my neighbor which turned into walk/run, which turned into running.
Three years after my mom died, I was out on the golf course with my best friend and nieghbor and he collapsed on the 4th hole of a massive heart attack – He was 57.
I was by his side when he died and it reconfirmed my committment to improve my health.
Mark and I did everything together, including drink. I love to cook and I cooked up alot of deep fried this and that, lots of butter etc etc ….. you get the picture.

In the last 5 years I have gradually gone off of all my medications, all with a Doctors supervision, sometimes against his better judgement, but always well aware of what I was doing. Now, at 49, I don’t have any issues, other then the occassional aches and pain from an intense workout or run. I love the way I feel and my energy level tops my children. I hope to be around for a long time, but even if I am not, I will be able to enjoy life a whole lot more. I really want to stress to anyone thinking of making a change to remember that it is not easy, but it also doesn’t have to be hard or impossible. Have you ever watched an episode of Biggest Loser?. None of those people took the easy road. Just be patient, one very small step at a time and before you realize it, you will “get it” and be on your way.

I truly hope the best for you

Rob
